AAAS Community Organization Award Nomination

The Association for Asian American Studies (AAAS) is currently accepting nominations for its annual AAAS Community Organization Award, an award that recognizes an organization that has shown outstanding leadership and service to specific ethnic or Asian American and Pacific Islander American communities. This may include community-based or non-governmental organizations, museums, and associations.

Please complete the form below and provide a 1-3-page Letter of Nomination (PDF file) describing the community organization’s contributions to the community.

Decisions regarding this award will be determined by a subcommittee of the AAAS Board with approval by the full AAAS Board. The awardee will receive $300 from the AURA-AAAS Endowment Fund. The purpose of the gift is to be a legacy of Asians United to Raise Awareness (AURA) and its founding mission: striving for positive social change by funding and developing programs that raise political and cultural awareness about and among the Asian American community.

Important Dates: Applications must be received in full by January 15, 2016. Awardees will be notified by February 15, 2016.
