Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Psychology, Amherst College

The Department of Psychology at Amherst College invites applications for an open rank tenure-line position from candidates with a Ph.D. in developmental or social psychology whose research focuses on Asian Americans, and whose research program has a substantial basis in the United States, beginning July 1, 2023. The position is part of a three-faculty-position cluster hire in Asian American studies. The candidate will join new and continuing faculty in other departments in teaching and research focused on Asian Americans and/or Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong commitment to teaching and an active research program that can involve bright undergraduates from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will be able to develop a repertoire of courses that include introductory psychology, cultural psychology, Asian American psychology, and either a research intensive lab course or an advanced seminar. The teaching load is two courses each semester; two of these courses should have significant content on Asian Americans and serve in the eventual development of a major in Asian American studies. The successful candidate will be expected to advise honors theses. Any appointment with tenure will be contingent upon a positive tenure review.
