Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies (Asian American Studies), California State University, Stanislaus

The Department of Ethnic Studies invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The person appointed to this position will teach in the areas of Asian American Studies and Ethnic Studies. Additional duties will include: demonstrating an active research agenda and the ability to integrate scholarly interests with student learning, with careful attention to advising and providing community engagement opportunities for undergraduates. The candidate chosen for this position will have the opportunity to: 1) develop new courses in their area of expertise to serve curricular needs within Ethnic Studies; 2) support the creation and implementation of an ES Masters Credential Program; and 3) contribute to the ongoing development of the Ethnic Studies program and related co-curricular programming to help promote campus engagement, build relations with community organizations, and facilitate or participate in other relevant collaborations in the region. Effective teaching, scholarly productivity and service to the Ethnic Studies program and university are required for retention, promotion, and tenure.
