Associate or Full Professor – Asian American Studies and potential Chair of Asian and Asian American Studies, Cal State LA Deadline: For full consideration, complete applications must be submitted by January 17, 2023. Minimum Qualifications: 1) An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Asian American Studies, Ethnic or Gender Studies, or a relevant discipline in the Social Sciences or Humanities or closely-related field from an accredited institution (or equivalent) is required; 2) Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level; 3) Well-established record of scholarly productivity in the area of Asian American Studies; 4) Hold a tenured position at the Associate or Full Professor level. Appointment will be at current rank with tenure. Preferred Qualifications: 1) Clear evidence of collaborative leadership; 2) Demonstrated evidence of faculty support; 3) Evidence of experience in academic program administration or serving as department/program chair; 4) Experience in grant writing and funding development; 5) Evidence of research that includes a focus on culture or related specializations within the field of Asian American Studies. Duties: The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities generally include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.
