Temporary Faculty Pool: Asian American Studies

The San Diego State University’s Asian American Studies program maintains an open “pool” of applications for temporary faculty positions and reviews this pool on an as-needed basis to identify qualified applicants for available instructional work. We are seeking applications for AY24-25 for in-person courses. We welcome applications from prospective temporary faculty with expertise or experience to teach the following courses:

Lower-Division Courses

  • Writing and Composition
  • Power, Politics, and Asian America (general survey course)
  • Introduction to Filipino American Studies
  • War in the Asian American Experience
  • Pop Culture and Asian America
  • Mental Health and Asian Americans

Upper-Division Courses

  • Gender and Sexuality in Asian America
  • Business and Asian Americans
  • Storytelling Techniques in Asian America
  • Medical Humanities and Asian America
  • Contemporary Issues in Filipino-American Communities
  • Leadership and Professional Development for Asian Americans

Temporary appointments may be either full or part-time. Initial appointments are typically one semester or one academic year, to be renewed contingent on satisfactory evaluations and continuing availability of work.
