Visiting Assistant Professor, Wofford College

Wofford College invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor in Asian and/or Pacific
Islander studies, Indigenous studies or Latinx studies in the college’s Department of English Language
and Literature. We are particularly interested in applicants whose pedagogy and scholarship show a
commitment to diversity, equity and justice.

Applicants will have a Ph.D. in literature or be ABD by the start of the appointment in the fall of 2023,
and will provide evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarship. The incoming faculty member will
teach courses of their own design, such as a first-year seminar in the liberal arts and introductory and
intermediate courses for English majors in their field of study. The teaching load is 4-0-4 with two course
preps per semester. Contingent faculty members will not be required to teach during Wofford’s January
term. Wofford faculty are teacher-scholars with a focus on undergraduate teaching and advising and a
commitment to the liberal arts.
