Critical SWANA Diaspora Studies

Chair: Najwa Mayer, Thomas Simsarian Dolan, & Ida Yalzadeh

The Critical SWANA Diaspora Studies section is a collective of scholars who research issues of multiple colonialisms, imperialisms, racisms, migrations, capital, and cultures by communing interdisciplinary and trans-regional perspectives within South West Asian North African (SWANA) diasporas. Following activist genealogies of SWANA as a political site of solidarity, we engage shared questions of power to theorize relationalities and trouble complicities within South/West/Central Asian as well as Afro-Asian orientations in Asian American Studie
