The Critical Race and Ethnic Studies Department (https://cres.ucsc.edu) at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Critical Filipinx Studies. We seek applicants whose work engages in any area of critical Filipinx studies–focusing on the Philippines and/or diasporic communities in the United States or elsewhere. We are particularly interested in scholars with experience and a commitment to working collaboratively with Filipinx communities, including students. Training in ethnic studies, other interdisciplines and fields, including creative fields, at the bachelor’s, master’s, and/or doctoral levels is especially welcome.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated dedication to political education, social engagement, and community organizing. In addition to producing high-caliber research, candidates are expected to have a strong teaching record and experience developing curricula.
