Assistant or Associate Professor of Asian American Studies

The California State University, Channel Islands (CSUCI) invites candidates to apply for one Tenure-track faculty position (assistant or associate professor) with teaching and research focus in Asian American to begin Fall 2024. As the inaugural member of our Asian American Studies Program, candidates will be expected to teach an introductory lower-division Asian American Studies survey course that examines the experiences of Asian-Americans in the United States, as well as develop new courses according to expertise and curricular need. The successful candidate will guide the program as it grows and develops at CSUCI. This position will entail curriculum and program development as well as efforts to recruit faculty and students and collaborate with other programs.

In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, and service to the program, college, and university. The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion.
